False Advertising - FREE HBO today through 5/31

I was told my previous thread was merged into a "what we are doing during covid-19..." thread. However, that is FALSE. My previous thread was deleted.

I received the following message from AT&T, and was told by someone claiming "NOT to be an AT&T employee" that maybe it was sent in error, which is not a VALID answer and does not make the question closed.

Give me my FREE HBO

@ronrowlandsmyrna,

We apologize for the confusion - that note was not referring to a free preview of HBO but a Free On Demand HBO sampling, available on channel 1501, until 5/31.

Season 1, Episodes 1-3 of the following series are available for free, on channel 1501, until 5/31:

• Westworld

• Game of Thrones

• Insecure

• Curb Your Enthusiasm

• Veep

• Sopranos

We apologize for the confusion,

The AT&T Community Team

@ATTCommunityTeam Thanks for the clarity.

Someone probably should have proofread that message before it went out and added the words "On Demand".

Shoutout to everyone who can remember their childhood phone number but can't remember the password they created yesterday.  You are my people.  😊

IT WAS A MISTAKE. MISTAKES HAPPEN.

YOU ARE GETTING EPIX NOW AND WILL GET HBO ON APRIL 17 THRU APRIL 20 JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.

SORRY TO BREAK IT TO YOU BUT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO TREAT YOU SPECIAL.

But you can stomp your feet if it makes you feel better......

I wasn’t asking to be treated special.

I was asking for what was avertised to me and a million + other “special” people.

EPIX for 2 weeks is not nearly the same as HBO for 2 months.

You call it stomping my feet, but the Federal Trade Commission calls it something else. There are specific rules and regs you must follow when correcting FALSE ADVERTISING bestowed on the public.

Hey Mr “not an employee”, you should probably clue your legal department in on the gross errors that have been perpetrated and the insults you have rendered on a customer that has purchased more than $50,000 worth of services from AT&T.

AT&T needs to push out a second message to correct the first one.

U-Verse channel 1501 does not exist.

There are two previews of HBO stuff. Channels in the 1800/800 range will be free for a weekend.

In addition, the HBO Max and HBO Go apps are free with limited content available.
