Very frustrated, not sure what to do

I have an install scheduled tomorrow. I am very frustrated because I was quoted a price for bundled tv/internet/phone and when I logged on and saw my billing the price was 47.00 higher. The first thing I did was got on chat to ask about it. I was transferred to 3 different people, none helped. One wanted me to cancel the order and promised to help. This has been crazy. Then I talked on the phone to someone who apologzed but said they dont have any packages that low. Apparently a contracted service made promises that AT&T will not honor. I agreed to a package for an install tomorrow, but it was of course, 40.00 higher than I was quoted, still, I hope, better than the competition. I was given a number to call for appeals and escalations so that I could make a formal complaint, but when I call the number I get a recording and no way to start a new complaint. I am so frustrated I dont know if I should cancel and never deal with At&T or not. This has been awful so far. I agreed to fiber optic cable tv and I'm not sure if I should do that or direct sattelite. I am currently a Dish customer. Can anyone help me? thanks

I haven't written them yet. Took a coupl days to cool off and enjoy Christmas. I will send my note tonite. I'll let you know.

I had same thing happened to me ...Nov 15 they sent me a bill that because DirectTV is merging that my bill will go up almost $50 more we just completed the 2 yr contract a couple months ago...we have also video and audio drop out every half hr and they sent a tech out twice their conclusion was they should not have installed it because my home is almost a mile from amp....I tried to call and cancel..try it...they delay you with call here call their...after 4 hrs I was able to cancel then they delayed the shutoff to dec 25, 2 wks after I called and want me to pay for it......believe me it will be a cold day when I go with AT&T... ever... I have DISH for $65 , 2 TVs, DVR, $49 lock in for 2 yrs with 1 yr free movies including NETFLEX.....

@focusmoney, perhaps you are having issues using the forums, but each of your posts so far has been duplicated.  This last one at least was to the point, but in violation of Community Guidelines.

This was my first time on this forum and I expressed my AT&T problem in a proper and respectful manner. JefferMC comments “focusmoney, your post made no sense the first time, and repeating it word for word made absolutely no improvement on it( a very cheap & sarcastic shot ) ”, seems to have issues with people from different languages trying to get a point across the best way they can, even though the Community system somehow was duplicating my comments, I don’t know why? Even if the author rewrites it to make it more readable to please certain sarcastic people. After all, these comments are from real people with real experiences, problems with AT&T. I think your “ JefferMC” cheap shot was uncalled for especially from an ACE! and violated the "Keep it courteous" section of the Community User Guidelines

@JefferMC was merely pointing out that your posts were being duplicated.  I don't know how you can call that a 'cheap shot'.

 

And please note that you're the one that hurled the first insult by saying "U cannot read" and "your(sic) a complete id.io. t ...." <--- FYI: avoiding a banned word is frowned upon Smiley Sad

 

JefferMC has been around for over 6 years so I'm pretty sure he knows a thing or two about how these forums work.  You could take a lesson from him.

Follow up... What has AT&T done? So far, I have received email from an empathetic employee, but it appears nothing really, will be done. I would feel better if I knew that they were looking in depth into the issue, and that the person who hooked me in at a price 40% lower than what they honor will be stopped, immediately. (I am sure this is a foreign based sub-contractor) I would also appreciate a credit, somewhere in the middle, between what I am paying and what I was quoted, that compromise seems right.  I am nottotally decided but I feel inclined to stay with them for 1 year and see how it goes. I am happy with the internet speed, but the DVR and the navigation/interface for TV is terrible. So, customer service is lacking, it appears, but the competition isnt really better- as far as customer service, unfortunately.
