Uvserse Install without modem/router

I have to cancel my internet and home phone and will only have uvsere tv from att as their internet speed in my area is crappy. I have had to order another internet service from xfinity.

I was told I need to return the modem/router to att.

How will my tv's work now, some of my tv uverse boxes are wireless and require the wireless att access point for boxes? I have not been able to get any help from att and I want to make sure all of my tvs will still work as I do not have cables installed in the wall to connect most of the boxes, also will the DVR still work.... zero help from att.

QUESTION!

Do not return the modem/gateway if you are keeping Uverse TV. You are correct when you assume you must have a gateway. Apparently, the CS person was confused.

What will happen with my wireless boxes, I am assuming if I do not have internet with them I have to hook them to my Xfinity internet for others in the house to get tv still?

Uverse TV has no interaction with Xfinity. The WAP (small white box attached to gateway) is what delivers your TV signal to your wireless receivers. Keep that along with the gateway.

Gateway > WAP > Wireless receivers

OK Thanks. Do you know if I need to run a new cable for my new Xfinity internet or can I use a cable splitter?
