U-verse TV without Wi-Fi service…

We have had wifi and ATT U-verse since U-Verse started. However, we have not been lucky enough with their wi-fi, paid for 100but only received a max of 25. Now we want to get rid of the wifi and keep the att U-verse, is this possible?

Hi there 1Forevermom, let us answer your question about keeping U-verse TV without AT&T Internet!

AT&T Internet is not required for U-verse TV.  However, you will have to keep the AT&T gateway to maintain the connection, and you will no longer have access to certain features, such as music channels.

When it comes to your Internet speed, we'd be happy to help you get closer to 100 Mbps! We have an informative article on our website that covers the many ways to optimize your Internet speed.

There are several factors that impact Internet speed:

  • Age of wiring inside your building
  • Distance between the gateway and your device
  • Age and type of gateway or router
  • Number of devices connected to the gateway
  • Type of connection used

So that we can determine why your Wi-Fi isn't as fast as it should be, please provide more information:

  • What gateway model do you have? It may be time for an upgrade.
  • How many devices are usually connected to the Wi-Fi? There are only so many devices that Internet 100 can support.
  • What type of devices are usually connected to the Wi-Fi? Older devices may not be able to handle faster speeds.

The more infomation we have, the more easily we can assist you.

We'll be awaiting your response!

Age of wiring is a big one. If the wires are old, you'll have the same exact issues with any other provider. Plus, you could also lose discounts.
