How To Hard Wire U-verse ARRIS Wireless TV Receiver?

  • Network
  • Is it possible to wire all three U-verse receivers through the TL-SG1024DE V2, using IGMP Snooping to segregate the IPTV traffic, while all my other internet dependent devices are connected to it?
    • If so, can anyone explain how to set up the IGMP Snooping settings?
    • If not, does the T1600G-28PS have the capability to connect the three U-verse receivers and still run my PoE security cameras, since it's managed?

You cannot configure an unmanaged switch such as the TL-SG1024DE V2 for IGMP Snooping as it will not have that feature.  So, that idea is right out.  Likewise, you cannot configure it for VLANs (nor do you have two ports from the Gateway to feed two VLANs) so that trick is not available to segregate your traffic either.  Thus you cannot place both a WAP for Internet traffic and AT&T IPTV gear on it.

The T1600G-28PS is a managed switch and lists IGMP Snooping as a feature,  However, since the only thing you appear to have on it are wired security camera, there should be no issue connecting IPTV TV Receivers through it even without turning no IGMP Snooping.  If you want to try to turn it on and see if it works, that would be fine too.

I'm assuming what you have in port 3 of your gateway is actually not a Wireless-capable TV Receiver, but instead your DVR.
