DVR recordings

My DVR recordings have disappeared twice in the last 2 weeks. Why?

Let's help figure out what's going on with your recorded programs, @millerhimes!

 

There are many things that can cause missing recordings, such as surge protectors/power strips, or even hardware related issues like a bad hard drive. If possible, we do recommend plugging your DVR directly in to a wall outlet to help prevent missing recordings in the future.

 

Try these quick tips to troubleshoot your DVR:

  • Restart your U-verse TV receiver (DVR) by holding down the POWER button for 5 seconds, then press it again to restart. (This takes 5-8 minutes and impacts any DVR recordings in progress.) 
  • Press the Recorded TV button on your remote if your recorded program is frozen or missing.

If that doesn't help, there are some additional troubleshooting steps that you can take.

Tried reboot, that didn't work. I'm plugged directly into wall outlet.

Did you get a chance to try the additional troubleshooting steps that are listed in the article linked above? If not, please give those a try as well.

I went to the troubleshooting in the help section using the remote, there is no category for "lost recordings", didn't help.
