Can I view recordings on my old dvr?

During spring cleaning I found my old Motorola VIP 1225 dvr that was replaced a few years ago. Is there a way to see what is recorded on it?

When I power it up it just says it needs to be rebooted.

If the DVR was never returned it would be flagged as stolen.

That would be strange for them to tell me I didn't need to return it and then flag it as stolen.

I would think I could see what was recorded without putting it online.

Oh well, into the shredder it goes.
