Service Cancellation Confirmation

I called customer service today to cancel my U-verse and internet service, but wasn't told I would receive a confirmation letter or email. However, when I read about returning equipment, the website mentions showing a letter or email to FedEx or UPS. How long does it take to receive the confirmation letter and/or email?

You don’t need to show a letter. Just drop it off. Have your account number with you. And keep the tracking number for several months.
