AT&T Reward Cards Expired!
I am writing this email for the 2nd time - this time I am saving a copy and a screen shot. I wrote this exact email a few weeks ago and submitted it, now I can't find a single trace of it on the support forums so I am going to try again.
I signed up for U-verse and received my reward cards in the mail within the promised timeframe. One of the cards had $100, the other $50. I tried using the $100 card within a couple of weeks of receiving it at a restaurant. I handed the card to the waitress and she returned it and told me that it was not accepted. Our bill was around $60, so I know the $100 card should have processed with no problem. I had her try again and again - no luck, the card was declined.
I tried using the same card again several times at stores and restaurants, all with no success. I signed onto the website to check the card balance to make sure that there were funds on the cards. Both of the cards displayed the exact amount I was expecting - $50 and $100, so I knew that was not the issue.
I tried using the $100 card at a store and finally had good luck with it. It processed for (from what I can remember) around $60.
I tried using the remainder at several different establishments, and never had success again.
During this time, I called AT&T customer service 2-3 times in hopes to find out why my card was being declined and was never truly helped. I was told that there was no customer service number to call for the rewards card and that I had to seek help online.
I posted my question in the community forum a few weeks ago, and as I mentioned, it is now NOWHERE to be found on this forum.
The last and final time that I tried to use my $100 card on 4/30/16, it was declined again! The clerk told me that it was declined due to an "expired date on the card". I looked and sure enough, the date of expiration on both of my cards was 4/30! I received my cards at the end of January and they already expired at the end of April without having used even half of the funds, even when trying to use the card on the DAY of the expiration date. I started Googling and found this forum with others having the same issues as myself.
I had plans for the funds and the reward was one of the main reasons I signed up for the U-verse service to begin with, and now I cannot even use my cards because the expiration date. I would greatly appreciate if someone could look into this for me and possible extend the expiration date with the remaining funds.
