Charged after changeover
After AT&T announced they were sunsetting Digital Life and that they were "passing off" the account to Brinks, I took that and had the new (and superior) Brinks equipment installed. But in reviewing my latest credit card statements, I see was charged by AT&T for three more months after the changeover. You've deleted my account so I can't sign on. Please respond to me via email ([email scrubbed]) to detail how you will refund these charges.

@Cavedog54 You will need to contact AT&T directly. This is a customer populated forum only. It is not AT&T Support so no one will respond to your request here.

Got it, thank you. Then let the post be a caveat to others taking the switch to Brinks.

@Cavedog54 Hello. Our apologies for the issue. If you would contact our Customer Support center, an agent can take a look at when you were installed with Brinks Home and resolve your billing issue. We had several folks not contact us after being installed which resulted in the billing issue if a customer didn't notify us they were installed , were set up on autopay and to cancel their account. Our support number is 1-855-288-2727 option 4.

Issue is now solved. However ATT is badly at fault for this: their email notifying of the Brinks passoff -- and follow-up emails -- said specifically that nothing further had to be done after scheduling the Brinks service. Right - if you want to keep paying them for no service. Predictably dubious behavior from the company that held a monopoly on phone service until they were broken up in 1982.

Glad to hear Brinks is working for you but I’ve got a friend who also took the Brinks offer and has had issue after issue getting the Brinks equipment installed. After several months, he still doesn’t have working service.

Brinks is problematic as well, though both equipment and service better than ATT. They already tried to tack on additional charges without asking, so I'm pretty over all of them.
