Constant buffering

I have been getting constant buffering problems lately, especially in the evening. I have a motorola gateway and use roku devices (hub and stick) on two tvs. Buffering happens across apps (Netfix, hbo, boomerang!, etc.) and makes watching extremely frustrating.
