Slowed hotspot during COVID

How much hotspot data usage is inappropriate?

I'm looking into getting hotspot wifi for my home in the booney's, but I've heard that if their system see's you using too much too fast, they will either block or perma throttle your sim card. I'm fine setting restrictions on my bandwidth usage, I'm just looking to figure out what is and is not ok.
