Uverse tv lags

I switched to att recently.  It lags regularly especially when i forward or rewind TV. Tv and DVR both lags. I have restarted several times but lags again in less than 30mins.  Had i experienced this sooner i would have cancelled my subscription. Has anyone been able to solve this?
