I have called AT&T to cancel internet 4 times. It is 7:00 pm CT, which is within their customer service hours. After telling them I want to cancel, the phone call gets disconnected. Every. Single. Time. I can see this is AT&T's way of keeping me signed up but it is not okay and is not legal.
