How to perform a destructive recovery on dvr?...other "options"?

I know I've seen theses instructions posted before but for some reason my searches haven't been able to locate them. I've been getting an X8 on my IPH8010 so it looks like the dvr finally bit the dust. I've tried non-destructive unplugging power 3 times many times and had no success reviving it.

HBO Max Activation Tile Missing

Got rid of my cable TV provider and I tried to login to HBO Max. My wireless "Plan Details" says HBO Max Included. Instructions say login to ATT and click on "Activate HBO Max Tile" which is nowhere to be found. When I login using ATT as my provider, it says "Your subscription cannot be verified".

Receiver reboots on its own

When I press certain buttons, the receiver will continuously reboots. Last night, it rebooted without touching the remote.  I tried switching receivers with another TV in home and problem persists on same TV.  Not sure if this is a receiver or TV issue.  Anyone experience this?

I've called the number for Customer Service and done the "Chat/automated response" thing and they are to no avail. One of my received power blocks has gone bad.   The system tests show good because the other receivers are all up and running.  SO automated chat is a no go.
