What is code 9999 when visual voicemail won't work?
I keep getting code 9999 for my visual voicemail and can't get anyone to help me get it fixed. So, I'm having to call my voicemail, instead of using my visual voicemail.
Let's work together to help restore the visual voicemail feature on your device, @Lynn69.
Your phone needs a wireless connection to download Visual Voicemail messages and get voicemail notification alerts. To check that your signal is strong enough for this, please:
Turn your phone off for 10 seconds and then back on.
Place a test call to 611.
Do one of the following:
If the test call is successful, press and hold 1 to dial into the voicemail system.
If Visual Voicemail won't download, press and hold 1 to check your messages.
If your test call fails, confirm you have wireless coverage.
We also ask that you confirm visual voicemail is not disabled on your device by following these steps:
Go to Settings.
Go to Apps, Applications, or Application Manager.
Select Visual Voicemail. **Note: If Visual Voicemail is not present, select Menu or More (in upper right corner), then Show system apps. Then select Visual Voicemail.
Enable Visual Voicemail, if disabled.
If this doesn't help, we recommend utilizing our Device Support Tool to run a complete diagnostic on your device.
Hello, we understand the importance of having fully functioning Visual Voicemail and want to help.
The AT&T Visual Voicemail Error Code 9999 typically occurs when there’s an issue with your network connectivity or device settings. Here are some steps to rectify this:
Check your network connectivity.
Reset your voicemail password.
Update your device’s software.
Reset your device's network settings.
Power cycle your device to reset your device and reset your network settings to refresh your connection.
Ensure that your call forwarding is turned off as it can interfere with your voicemail service.
Unfortunately, none of these suggestions worked. I have a Galaxy S22+. It is running the latest update. It won’t let me uninstall and reinstall the visual voicemail app, and it won’t let me turn call forwarding off. It’s aggravating to say the least.
