Update 2015-02-23 to S4 caused phone to stop working
Spent hours yesterday ohn phone to customer "service" (the people I spoke with, when I could get trhrough, were absolutely doing everything they could, no complaint there).
Phone worked fine until notice appeard saying update was avail. I selected "defer until later". After that, no phone service, even after update went through.
EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS. Data fine, can browse, camera, audio, everything is good. Phone connects to network, shows 4G, etc. I get the chirp when I make a call, but there is silence when I try to talk or answer. I can dial it from my other lines, it rings, it picks up, but there is no communication.
Customer service said maybe phone mike is bad. Not true, works to make videos, sound recordings. They re-registered phone and did what they said they could do. I have to take it to an ATT Service store where they can fool with the phone... THE PROBLEM IS THE NETWORK! What is going on?
If it is the phone--it's some setting that only root can get at probably. The update push notice said "service would be disabled during update:-- wonder if there is a setting that it made at that point that didn' get changed.
ATT has disabled my service, I am frustrated because they say there is "nothibng they can do".
