Transfer Photos off Samsung Note9 HELP ATT

I need to transfer over 48,000 photos to an external hard drive,  a huge USB or several. From my Galaxy note9 . Wireless and Hotspot are too slow - will take weeks!  Will ATT store do this as I got new phone from them? Do they have the capability? Give me other suggestions.  I went to Walgreens.  I can do it there, 5,000 photos at a time their machine has a max for USB.

Any GOOD solutions are helpful. Thank You

at&t doesnt transfer data, too much of a liability , you should be able to plug your phone into your computer and transfer them that way

A cloud storage solution, like Google Photos. That'll back them off and it'll back them up automagically in the future when you take them.

Wireless and Hotspot are too slow - will take weeks!

It's taken years to back these up, what's another few weeks?

Sounds like you need to buy an external USB drive, right? Get that and take the phone home, to work, or a friend's computer and let it start copying.

I'm assuming your phone doesn't have more than 1TB of storage, so anything that large would be enough.

My suggestion is to get TWO drives, make two copies, so that when you delete them off the phone you now have the backup and the backup of that.  Keep one off site (parent's, best friend, etc.).

@moonamy

Do you have a PC or laptop that you could directly copy those files onto with a USB cable?

Maybe a friend or family member has one you can use for a few hours?

Then you can copy those to another USB thumb drive.

This is the sort of thing that should get taken care of on a daily basis with a cloud or hard drive backup. It should not be the sort of thing that becomes an emergency because you have decided to upgrade. What would you have done if you had lost your phone?  Or it was damaged/failed?

I have already been backing up to the cloud. I want a tangible copy of all media and photos. Your solution isn't helpful.

Remember, if you can't give a good solution,  just go to the next question and don't write anything.

@Constructive  ATT  used to do this as a courtesy service. We've been there for over 28 years. Yes I've had a cell phone that long 😱 The device was called Smartlink?   Anyways found out ATT quit this 2yrs ago.

I think AT&T quit this long before 2 years ago. You're talking about a time when the data amounted to maybe a few megabytes. Now we have phones that can have over 100 gigabytes.

IPhones were likely able to be transferred in-store for a bit longer because you can do a direct copy of everything - settings, apps, data, all of it without skipping a beat. But android based phones aren't so simple. You can't get a one-on-one transfer of one entire phone to another phone in the same way. So they leave that to you.

I just set my new iPhone on top of my old iPhone and after a few questions, it painlessly transfers everything.  It's quite fast and quite easy.

Thanks for the info @joeldf I assumed Android had it down in a similar manner these days.

@Gary L and @joeldf  they do! Samsung Smart Switch actually did it all for me 🤩

And yes, they actually did have those machines 2 years ago. It was the last time our family upgraded.
