Submitted and confirmed a device unlock request. Online status still shows Pending Confirmation

I submitted a device unlock request and received the confirmation email right away. I clicked on the link in the email to confirm the request. But 12 hours later, online status still shows Pending with the message "It looks like you haven't confirmed so we hit pause on your unlock request...". Tried to confirm again since I was still within the 24 hr window but it says link expired.

It seems there is no support for an unlock request unless you are a customer. Please help!! Any tips or insights are greatly appreciated.

We're happy to help with information for unlocking your device @grkiran2.

If your unlock request is still pending or shows that you have not confirmed your email, please allow some additional time for the link to expire. Your unlock request will then be canceled within two business days, and you will be able to submit another wireless unlock request with our Device Unlock Portal.

Once you have confirmed the unlock request in your email, and it is still saying pending, this means your request is still under review and should allow time for your request to process. Check the general requirements to unlock your device and how they can impact your request.

  • The device must be designed for use on, and locked to, the AT&T wireless network.
  • It must not be reported lost or stolen.
  • Your account must be active for at least 60 days, with no past due or unpaid balance.
  • It’s not associated with fraudulent activity.
  • All the device’s service commitments and installment plans are completed, and all early termination fees are paid in full.
  • The device is not currently active on a different AT&T customer’s account.
  • If you performed an early upgrade, you must wait the 14-day buyer’s remorse period before you can request to unlock your previous device.
  • Visit our Unlock Support page for the full requirement list.

If a phone is purchased from a non-AT&T authorized dealer or sites like eBay, AT&T may be unable to unlock the device. Before purchasing the device, make sure the seller performs the unlock request. In some instances, you will have to contact the seller to perform the request. If the device was purchased by another provider, they should have online resources to unlock the device. We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Thanks for the clarification @ATTHelp . The unlock request was eventually approved.

For lack for a better place to provide feedback or suggestions, here it is:

It might avoid confusion if the status is changed to "Under Review" after the request is confirmed. Or at least if the status description is changed to something like "Thank you for confirming your request. It is being reviewed ......" etc.
