SM-G975U ATT Model Unlocked won't update Android Security Patch Level

Hello, I recently moved to Europe, and am no longer on ATT. Before I left I unlocked my phone in-store. Now, I am worried that I am no longer able to get carrier updates on a phone I paid $1000 for. I use this phone for work, and if I don't get Android Security Patch Level 2020-04-01, I will no longer be able to use it.

I am looking for A) how OTA updates of software is handled on a carrier model S10+ (SM-G975U) that has been unlocked, and is not on ATT's network anymore, and B) if I can't get OTA updates, how can I keep my phone secure and up to date?

Your not going to get updates unless your a active ATT customer and in the USA.

So, is there no alternative? If I'm able to find a Samsung rep or technician, can they manually upgrade my phone? Is there a way to use Smart Switch to push the update? It is silly to me that once you unlock the phone, ATT is the only carrier that doesn't support updates off network.

Nope.  Your phone is a customized version of software made for AT&T. The only place the update is available is on AT&T servers. Your only option is to flash a different version of software onto the phone.  Not something we can delve into here.  You're on your own.

Thanks @lizdance40

I flashed my phone to the un-carrier locked version of the software and it resolved the issue. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have contacted Samsung USA and Luxembourg, and neither could help. I have installed Smart Switch from Samsung, but that shows software is up to date. I inserted my previous ATT sim card, but it isn't provisioned and didn't work.

Google is your friend.  That stuff can't be posted on the att forums..
