S4 Active Lollipop update issues

My S4 Active updated just a couple days ago with the new Lollipop update.

1) I did not verify for this update -- it just updated without my consent.  I don't mind the new look (although I still prefer the other).

2)  Since that update, my phone now loses signal on a regular basis (when I'm places I know I have signal) and does not connect to the 4G network as normal.  I have restarted my phone several times and have checked to make sure the Data is turned on (and it is).  I'm not doing anything different than what I would before the update.  What can I do?  Will a factory reset work?....Does that erase contacts and all apps I have downloaded?

Hi @hrsculley

I'm sorry you're having some issues with your device. A factory reset is a logical next step in troubleshooting, and it does erase everything, so it's very important to back all your data first.

It might be a coincidence, but you can also try replacing your SIM card, any corporate AT&T store can give you one for free.

Please let us know if you still need help.

Thank you,

Dmitriy

I did try the factory reset yesterday, and it didn't seem to help at all.
May have to go try the SIM card thing...

I'm having similar issues.  My S4 Active just updated on 5/18/15.  I have performance issues as well.  It is running slower, apps freeze up, my signal gets lost in areas that I never had issues with before, and my email is not functioning well.  The phone's email app is freezing up, not loading, or when I try to delete an email, will not actually delete it.  I have to go to my Gmail App to do all this...

I really do not want to do a factory restart.
