S22 Ultra no longer fast charging after latest update 11/21/2022

My S22 Ultra forced updated its software on 11/21/2022 and now it will no longer fast charge or super fast charge. I have tried multiple chargers and cables which all worked perfect before the update. Now when you connect the charger, it will state fast charging or super fast charging for a second or two before switching to cable charging. This phone is useless to be if it will not fast charge for the amount that I do on it.

We understand your frustrations with the charging of your device, and we'd like to look further into this, @CaptainO78.

Be advised, if you feel that your device now has a defect, you have the option of exchanging your device under warranty

  • New Apple devices or devices replaced by Apple: Typically, a one-year warranty
  • New devices (other than Apple): Usually a one-year manufacturer warranty, but some new devices have a two-year manufacturer warranty. Learn which devices have a two-year warranty.
  • AT&T Certified Pre-Owned and AT&T Certified Restored: Limited 90-day warranty that starts the day you buy the device.
  • Asurion replacement devices, including Apple devices: Typically, a one-year warranty on the device after the replacement date.

If you're not wanting to exchange your device, we'd suggest for you to wait for a new update to process to your device for this concern.

We hope this information was helpful and feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions.

Thanks for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.

I am going to do some further testing when I get home from work. It may actually be charging properly and just a graphical text issue that they broke with the latest update to not display which charging mode it is using properly.

I did further testing with 3 different chargers. A standard USB charger, a regular Samsung Fast Charger and a 45W Super Fast Charger. It does appear to be utilizing them properly and the charge times do reflect them properly. I also found how to run diagnostics through the Samsung Members app for the "cable charging" and it properly showed the three different types of chargers. So it appears that it is just a text issue on the notification bar that they broke with the update since it shows proper for a second or two and then switches to just display charging. I am attaching a picture of my phone at 51% and connected to the 45w Charger, however it only shows "Charging" but 38 min until full. I can say that in the time that it has taken me to type this, I am now up to 63% and 33 min until full.
