Phone unlocking instructions

I submitted a request to unlock my phone and was immediately approved and sent the unlock code however the instructions on how to use the code are inaccessible.   From the email:

Your unlock instructions: ${masterData.unlockInstruction}

How can I get the actual instructions to use the code?

Verify you have a 16 digit unlock code with no letters in it.

To unlock your phone you remove your sim card and insert a SIM card for a non AT&T provider. (A SIM card from an AT&T mvno will not trigger the pop-up for the unlock code.)

Once you have to pop up box enter the 16 digit code carefully.

If you don't have a non att sim, dial:

#7465625*638*, the unlock code, and #.
You’ll know your device is unlocked when you get this message: “Network Lock Deactivated.” or "unlock successful"

Hi , we want to help you unlock your device! Let's meet in a Direct Message to address your device unlock request. Check your Direct Message Inbox (it’s the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums).

In the meantime, try checking your email using another device this may help you view your email details and check out our AT&T Device Unlock Code instructions, Apple devices do not require an unlock code.

We look forward to hearing from you! Again, keep an eye out for our DM!

OK I tried putting in a  NON AT&T sim and didn't get any prompt to unlock the phone. Does this mean my phone is already unlocked?? I paid the total cost of the phone up front when I bought it, ie, no monthly installment payment.

Hey there, @LJSearles! We are here to help you with your device unlock instructions.

Thank you, @formerlyknownas for the help!

If you have service on your device after entering your new carrier SIM card, you are good to go!

You may also check out our Device Unlock Instructions, select your device model, and follow the prompts to unlock your device. Depending on the model, some devices may not prompt you to enter the code.

Let us know how it goes! If you have any other concerns, please feel free to reach back out as we are always here to help.
