Note 20 hasn't updated os nor security patch in 9 months

Note 20 has not updated since August 2021. Stuck on Android 11. Security patch hasn't updated since then either. Check for updates function states that my device is currently up to date. However I know that my current software is many months out of date and has rendered my phone vulnerable. Is it possible that my phone has malware that is preventing me from getting os and security updates?

Hey there @adoppie91. We want to help you with updating your Note 20.

 

 

We understand how important it is to have your device on the latest software version! The latest software version for the Note 20 is the Android version 12 that was released on February 7,2022.

 

To update the software you want to:

  1. Make sure your device is fully charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. Swipe down from the Notification bar and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Software update, then Check for updates.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update. The device automatically restarts once the new software successfully installs.

To verify the software update:

  1. Swipe down from the Notification bar and select Settings.
  2. Scroll to and select About phone, then Software information.
  3. If the Android and Baseband versions don’t match the current update; perform additional updates until they do.

After checking for updates,  it states my phone is up to date.  My software hasn't been updated since September 1 2021.  Stuck on Android 11 and security patches and Google play hasn't been updated since September 1 2021 as well. Why is my phone indicating that it's up to date when it is clearly not?
