"no network available"

Over the past several months I have begun to have a problem with my Samsung S10 phone.  In mid call, the call drops and I get the message "no network available".  Seconds later the network is back.  This happens only at my home and on my phone although my husband also has a samsung s8 active.  He has no problem with dropped calls due to network issues.  I have not been able to find a solution to this issue, which I'm sure is a bug on my phone, perhaps from a software update.  Obviously it is very frustrating as there is never an opportune time to drop a business call, or say to be waiting on hold for 30 minutes and when the rep finally picks up, the call drops shortly afterward.

This happens only in my home office.  My husband's office is directly lateral to mine and he does not have this problem.  Same service, same plan, samsung phone although an S8 active.

Hi @Malibuu1

Thank you for reaching out to us. We'll be happy to look into this for you.

What zip code are you located in? Which software update do you have? Have you tried resetting your network settings or any other troubleshooting? With more details, we'll be able to get started.

zipcode is 02465.  My software is up to date, I rechecked this morning.  I do not know how to tell what software update I have but the tool says I am current.  I have tried the troubleshooting and fix tool with no success.    I do not know how to reset my network settings.

Thank you

I reset the network and have not had a problem in a few days.  Thank you!

I have another issue on my husband's Samasung S8 Active.  Whenever he gets a call that goes to voicemail the voicemail indicator goes off over and over with barely a second in between until he checks the message.  If he doesn't want to check the message immediately, the noise is disruptive and irritating to all in the vicinity.  It literally keeps going off nonstop.  Any suggestions on this issue?

Thank you in advance,

Debbie

Hi Debbie

We're delighted to hear that the network reset worked for you!

For the voicemail, your husband can go to Settings > Notifications. There should be a list of apps; have him find Voicemail. There should be an option there to turn off the sound. Please let me know if this works.

You are not understanding the problem.  He wants the indicator to go off when the call goes to voicemail, but it does not need to keep indicating over and over again without a second in between.

Hello @Malibuu1!

Let's look into resolving that annoying voicemail indicator experience on your husband's Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. We'd like to know more about your experience.

  • Has the voicemail notification always been like that or is this experience recent?
    • If recent, has anything on the device changed since the indicator began behaving in this fashion?
    • Also, if this is recent, try the following:
      1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
      2. Tap Settings > Display > LED indicator to turn the feature off, then after several seconds, on again.

Let us know how this worked for you.
