Incorrect Unlock Code for Samsung J7

I have been trying to unlock this phone that used to be on the AT&T network, but now has not had service for years. I do not remember any of the account details, the passcode, nor can I actually access anything useful. Edit: The account is inactive because of how long it hasn't been used on AT&Ts network.

I have done at IMEI unlock request twice and have gotten the same, incorrect code (it was an 8 digit code supposedly for a Samsung J7 SIM unlock code). I am at 2 or 3 tries left and I cannot get help from customer service as I don't remember the passcode to account that hasn't been used, with a number that has been transferred to a new service provider on a new phone.

Again, I have used the device portal twice, gotten an incorrect code twice, tried to call customer service with no luck, and cannot unlock this phone to use with a new provider whom I have set up a new number and account with.

Are you saying you got two different codes? Or the same wrong code both times?

If you need extra help you can either call and ask for AT&T tech support or file an FCC complaint. Routine FCC complaints are just forwarded back to AT&T upper management and someone will call you

I got the same wrong code both times, and I tried to call but since the account is inactive and I don't know any of the previous information, they can't do anything for me. The account is likely inactive because the previous owner of the phone transferred her number over to a different carrier and left it at that.

Yes, I have followed the instructions for the device and have used up two or three of my attempts in unlocking it. It does not help when the code I am being provided is wrong.
