I am not receiving Voicemail notifications
I am not receiving Voicemail notifications when someone leaves a voicemail. I follow the instructions below, but when I press 1 while I'm in personal options it says that it is an incorrect entry. This is NOT a good situation.
Apparently also Visual Voicemail cannot access the service. What is going on??
Basic voicemail notification alerts
To call the voicemail system to turn your notification alerts on and off:
-
- Press and hold 1 from your AT&T wireless phone. If you have AT&T Wireless Home Phone, dial 1 from your connected home phone.
-
- Enter your voicemail password, if prompted.
-
- If you have new messages, press the * key to skip to the Main Menu.
-
- In the Main Menu, press 4 for Personal Options.
-
- Press 1 to turn Voicemail Notifications On or Off.

Voicemail is certainly an important feature, friarlaw7, and we want to look into what's going on with the notifications.
Here's something that may help.
You should now be notified whenever you receive a voicemail. If your experience persists it can help to restart your phone which will refresh the device's connection to the network.
Also, try clearing the app cache. Follow these instructions at our AT&T Device Support Center. After selecting your device's make and model choose Troubleshooting followed by App Troubleshooting and follow the instructions presented.
Try this and let us know how it goes.
Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums.

Let's look into what's going on with your voicemail service, eric8088. Thank you for reaching out.
The first step you should try is to power your device off for 1-2 minutes then power it on again. This is an important step as it refreshes your phone to the network while closing the operating system and closes all pending input and output operations before initiating a restart of the phone.
It's possible to use AT&T Device Support to learn how to perform various resets. After selecting your device's make and model choose Troubleshooting followed by Reset Device.
Also, reach back out to us and let us know the make and model of your device. This will help us better assist you with troubleshooting your experience to reach a definite resolution to this trend on your device.
