How to fix contact text iss

i just got a new Samsung Galaxy S21. The store did the data transfer. My issue is when i try to text from the contacts list, some recipients show up at the top of the message with a shaded background and will not send. I have deleted the particular contact and re-entered with the same result, shows the shaded block at the top. Hopefully someone can help. Thanks.
