Galaxy Note 5 can't update itself to use Samsung Pay

Hello,

I have two Galaxy Note 5 phones. One was successfully updated to the latest Android 5.1.1 build LMY47X.N920AUCU2AOI6 while another stuck on LMY47X.N920AUCU1AOGG. And no matter what I do (clean up cache in Settings or clear the cache partition), the software update can't go through. I get an error message that says the "software update was interrupted". Samsung Pay requires the latest build, so my wife can't use it because of software update issues. I would consider Factory Reset as the last resort. I guess there could be some software sitting on the phone or security settings that interfere with update process somehow, not sure. Smart Switch app doesn't show any updates to be applied to this Note 5.

att does not load there updates to smartswitch.

Now when you got these note 5's did you just take your wifes sim card and put it into the note 5?  The IMEI could be wrong on the account is what Im getting at.

I will certainly check that. Also I'm going to check for any disabled apps. I'll try to re-enable them before checking for update.

I am using it on AT&T.  Not sure if the sales guy gave me a new sim or used the one that was in my previous phone.

I called AT&T support and they had no clue what was going on.  I am trying a hard reset now.

have them check to make sure your IMEI got changed....611 tech support can check it for you.

Hard reset did not help.  When I called 611, they said he checked my account and it showed the note 5....might try calling back and asking them to check the exact IMEI number

Yes, it was a SIM card. They replaced it and the update has completed successfully. And yes, I just took it from her old phone and slapped into a new one - mistake 🙂
