AT&T Visual Voicemail not working
I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G I purchased from AT&T. The Visual Voicemail was working when I got it. It is a AT&T locked device with the AT&T symbol on startup. I tried customer service and they told me to download AT&T Visual Voicemail app. This only results in an error message say "this app device is not compatible ". Customer service said they think they fixed it on AT&T side, but no success. This seems very strange because I have had Visual Voicemail for years. Can someone please help?

Hi kjrohrer74! We are here to help get your Visual voicemail feature back up and running again on your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G device!
If you haven't already please power cycle your device to reset your device. Also, you'll need to set up your visual voicemail service again if you recently, changed your device/SIM card by reinstalling the AT&T Visual voicemail app. Ensure that you have 4G LTE data enabled as this is needed for visual voicemail.
Other visual voicemail requirements are; having a smartphone and data plan that includes visual voicemail and using your own smartphone associated with your account to set up voicemail. Press and hold 1 to retrieve voicemail messages from your AT&T Wireless phone.
If this doesn't work, check out our troubleshoot & resolve tool to help fix visual voicemail concerns. You'll need to sign in for more personalized troubleshooting steps.
Let us know if this worked for you! Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!

I was having the same issue with visual voicemail- it stopped working. Cleared all cache and "forced stop", none of these steps worked. Voicemail locked up! Finally, I signed into my "myT&T" and clicked on "voicemail mail" support. It directed me to reset the password to fix voicemail issues, well it worked!

Transcription now works for my Samsung S23.
The apparent reason that the transcription to text of the Visual Voicemail quit working, on my Samsung S23, was that the "AT&T visual voice mail" app was not present. Instead the Samsung Visual Voice mail app was setup which does not offer transcription.
Solution: Get and install the AT&T visual voice mail from the Playstore.
