Att customer service deleted my important data without warning

Att customer service deleted my text messages by telling me to reset all settings to default on my galaxy s6 active. They did not warn me that I may lose data, Samsung did not warn me either. Google one is not working. I requested files from my Google account and heard nothing. Att Samsung Google is responsible for the important data loss. How are they going to restore my 4000+ messages that we'e deleted?

Resetting (network) settings only deletes wifi passwords, resetting preferences only resets defaults.  It does not factory reset the phone, which is what you apparently did.

I know it's 2022 and personal responsibility has been dead for several years.  😑

You didn't know that doing a factory reset would erase all data on the phone?

Just like every single phone warns you during the factory reset process, and before you proceed to actually erase the phone?

Do you back up your device?   No?

I obviously did not do a factory data reset. If you read my post you'll see that I did a reset all settings to default. The setting that deleted the data that I needed was the delete all text messages over 1000. How do you think I did a factory reset without getting notified of data loss? I don't appreciate you saying I have no sense of personal responsibility, insinuating that I am a liar, and  assuming that I'm some sort of (Edited per community guidelines) that doesn't know how to read. Very poor response. I'm looking for help, not someone who thinks they're smart making snide remarks. So now that you know the story, (I thought it was clear enough) tell me, how are they going to make it right

If the text messages are deleted, then nothing can be done to "make it right". The carrier doesn't save text messages on their end as that is private. Those are saved on the device itself, or any special backup options you might use.

A factory reset/master clear is what should delete everything. Resetting some settings shouldn't, but as technology isn't perfect it is always a good idea to make sure everything is backed up before any kind of reset or update to be on the safe side.

The setting that deleted the data that I needed was the delete all text messages over 1000.

If that is the default setting that it reverted back to, then that makes it highly recommended to review what default settings are before doing the reset. Though I do standby that it is important to make sure all needed info is backed up regardless for your own protection.
