unable to buy selected prepaid plan

I’m on an unlocked phone and have the $30/month prepaid plan. Why am I not allowed to change to the 3-month/8gb plan for $99? I get only 2 other plan options I can choose to change to when I am in my account profile. Also, unable to complete a new plan purchase if I select from the website and place the plan into the cart

The multi month plans are only available to new lines, not existing lines. You would need to open a new line with a new number to get either that 3 month or the 12 month plan.

Thank you sandblaster. Ugh. That restriction (Edited per community guidelines) :/ Wished they made it more clear which plans are for brand new customers and which are for existing customers

Thank you for reaching out to us @NeedHeelp.

The information provided by @sandblaster is accurate; we'll be sure to submit feedback so that the customer-facing page for multi-month prepaid plans is clearer about this requirement.

In the meantime, you can see the plans that are available to you here on our main plans page. We regret any inconvenience. Thanks for reaching out to our AT&T Community!

Why can't prepaid customers connect phone to my smart T.V. Seems a bit unfair to deny me being able to use my T.V. for streaming cuz I may not have good enuf credit to qualify for contract. That hardly seems fair. I spend more every month than alot of your contract holders. What makes my money less valuable than that of someone with better credit?

Why are you posting on a completely unrelated topic?

Your inability to connect to a TV, has nothing to do with your prepaid plan and everything to do with your phone.

Connecting as you suggest is often problematic and does not work.  It's a common complaint that TV won't use a phone's hotspot.

You should know that your phone has very limited amount of Hotspot data. Even postpaid has limited Hotspot data which prevents such connection from working for very long even for the few people to have managed to get it to work..   streaming TV uses anywhere between 4 and 8 gigs and hour. As a prepaid customer you have a 10 gig hotspot with your plan which means you'd get about one movie in and then hotspot is shut off for the month.

Okay well I probably put it under that category because it was the first time I'd ever been there and I wasn't 100% sure what I was doing but if you want to sound like a tough guy or when I act like a douchebag I don't really give a (Edited per community guidelines) I don't really know (Edited per community guidelines) about phones but I can tell you that you know less than I do cuz what you said not true it has everything to do with the prepaid plan me not being able to hook up to my TV so the fact that I know that and you don't is it good for you cuz I don't know (Edited per community guidelines) really about it except a little bit that I've researched and if I would have read the box more deliberately when I bought this prepaid phone I would have seen that also almost everybody can hook up to their Smart TV and I know and I used to be able to do it with Verizon which is why I'm going to go back there so if you're going to sound like I know it at all or just be a douchebag at least have better info than when he gave me

I can ask you the same thing why are you giving completely wrong information out to people on the community forum? See that's just as dumb as we put it under the wrong category and now you've been called out on it you little (Edited per community guidelines) at least I am able to admit this isn't my strong area I don't know a whole lot about phones and different plans because I just get one and keep it you act like you didn't know and just ended up sounding like a even bigger (Edited per community guidelines) than you are so how's that make you feel now buddy (Edited per community guidelines) little (Edited per community guidelines)
