No bars no connectivity-why was i sold a plan???
Prepaid an entire year after the first agent said no connectivity and his supervisor got on the line and said that was absolutely wrong and he promised there was good service at my address and data connectivity. Just drove over 300 miles in one day and a tank of gas$$$$ to find out there are ZERO BARS AT MY NEW HOME. Wandered outside to try grab a signal, 9 out of 10 it was instant ‘call failed’ zero sound and instant red text delivery failed. Either train your employees better or fix your lying coverage maps. Now i get to fight to get a refund and fight to port my number back to my old carrier who at least can offer enough bars that calls can b made and received and not dropped.

You were sold a plan because you asked for one. You do know you could have had a SIM card mailed you and activated it with a throw away number on the cheapest prepaid plan to test service?
No carrier guarantees service everywhere. Our little town has two Geographic dead zones (all carriers) that are about a quarter mile in size. The rest gets good service.

It is very likely that he will be refunded the $300 yearly plan. But switching carriers and buying into a full Year's service at a pretty high price is a big mistake if you haven't tested the service or at least asked your neighbors how AT&T works in your area.
I admin a local Facebook page and people ask several times a year how T-Mobile is in town. (it's stinks). Or they use AT&T or Verizon and want to know how good the other network is. (near equal). Great way to find out, FREE.
I didn't even address the possibility that this person is using it completely incompatible phone and that there's absolutely nothing wrong with service or coverage.
Any phone that falls back to 3-g for voice calls would be blocked from the network, voice calls and text messages would fail.

I called to explain my problem with another carrier and was researching their coverage maps. I was absolutely upsold by the supervisor who INSISTED I WOULD HAVE COVERAGE after at least 1/2 on the phone with coverage sweet talk.’…. I am at the end of my carrier choices. Its my old carrier I know or ATT. I went from a few bars and ability to at least receive and make calls with no drops on my old carrier to dead. And yes ive asked neighbors and searched forums online. Hello. Ive looked at where three towers cross line of site on my highway and figured out where im located within that so its not as if i havent researched beforehand. My closest neighbor is a mile away. Am using an iphone XR. A clamshell would prob actually do better than a modern phone. Moving on to viasat and back to old carrier.
