Annual plan double data promo for existing customers

Hey there, PsuFan513! Let's discuss the eligibility requirements for the $25 8GB Monthly Plan - Double Data Promotion.

Yes, the promotions offer is only available for new activation. Let's show appreciation to our ACEs for their helpful support. 

As of June 14, 2022 for a limited time, AT&T Prepaid has offered double the data (16GB for only $25 per month).

• New activation on the $25 8GB Monthly Plan (12-month plan)
• $300 upfront payment and covers twelve 30-day cycles
• Customers will receive 8GB bonus data each month (16GB total per month)
• Customers are eligible to continue the promo for as long they renew their plan (SMS reminder will be sent to customer during their 12th month of service)

If it doesn't not show when you login and look at plans, it's to entice new users.

Even if existing customers don't start suddenly getting double data, it's going to make people think twice about plan renewal if they can't at the very least get it  then... 

• Customers will receive 8GB bonus data each month (16GB total per month)

This isn't how the plan reads when electing it. It specifically says:

• Includes 16GB high speed data.

Then for rollover it reads

• Unused high-speed data from your plan rounds up to the nearest megabyte (MB) and carries over for one 30-day renewal when your plan renews on time. Unused Rollover Data automatically expires after one renewal period, or with any plan change (such as changing data amounts, cancellation, or balance expiration).

The problem I have with this is that 16GB is supposed to be the BASE amount of data. Because the plan supports data rollover for any data not used in the previous month, assuming you stayed on wifi for an entire month, theoretically you should be allowed to rollover 16GB to the next month, netting you 32GB in total. With the way this "bonus" 8GB of data is, the most you will ever see is 16GB. Unless in the next month the "bonus" data doesn't expire and would allow up to 24GB.

Can you please clarify how the rollover works?

I just hope AT&T decides to take care of existing customers, especially when renewal time comes up.

Joyne, where is this “double data” coming from? Can existing (or new) customers get 8gb for $300/year? Even that deal is better than existing customers get.

Instead of the 8GB 12 month plan, we are currently offering double data. So if our new customers had plan to purchase the 8GB plan and did not just yet, they will be able to purchase the 16GB 12 month plan as that is what we are offering at the moment. As explained in the thread by our agent Jonye, this is for new activations.
