Accepting Multiline Invitation
I have a single plan at the moment that expires on oct 2.
Me and my friends want to combine for a multiline and my friends sent me an invite.
However, I cannot join for some reason and it says error.
Why is this happening and what can I do?

What plan do you have? The only reason I can think of is if you don’t have an eligible plan.

Hello @jtschoy17, we're happy to help with information to access an invitation to a Prepaid Multi-Line account.
Thank you, @sandblaster for your assistance. If you’re invited to become a member of an AT&T PREPAID Multi-Line account, we'll send you a text. Here’s how to accept or decline the invitation:
We recommend waiting until the day before your plan’s due to renew before joining a Multi-Line account.
When you join a Multi-Line account, you consent to the disclosure of your AT&T PREPAID account info, including Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI), to the account owner of the Multi-Line Account you're joining. You have the right to restrict disclosure of your CPNI and other account information by declining to join the Multi-Line Account or by leaving the Multi-Line Account at any time.
Find more information on how to accept the Multi Line invitation on our Prepaid help page. In some instances, you may need to clear the cache and cookies in your web broswer then click on the invite again. We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

The $40 plan is eligible. Were you a part of a different multi-line plan within the past 30 days?
