unlock phone for travel abroad
I am currently traveling abroad and I purchased a sim card i cannot use with my phone. my phone should be unlocked because I paid it off but when I use the att tool to make sure its unlocked with my imei number it says the phone is locked to another account, perhaps my prepaid account?

Phones do not automatically get unlocked when paid off. You still need to request an unlock at the unlock portal:

I did and it says the phone is locked to an account I no longer remember the number it may be associated with but have been using it with my prepaid ATT account in the states for the past few years fine. I'm currently traveling abroad and don't have access to my mobile number to get past two factor authentication to open a proper ticket about either.
