We have no control or idea what Walmart has in stock in your particular location. If you're unhappy return the phone and try Target or Best Buy.

But anyway returned it and they gave me a new replacement phone (same phone model) and got it home charged it up and switched at@t some out and turned it on then also restarted it and IT DOES THE SAME THING!  Same automated message saying I need to return it to.....so idk now ya know...

Someone at the store is not scanning out the purchase correctly. When this happens there's a point of purchase error in the phone will not function.

You don't have to exchange the phone, but you do have to take it back to the store and tell them to scan the phone out properly so that it shows as sold, and AT&T will allow it to be used. If the salesperson gives you a blank look, ask for a manager of the electronics department
