call forwarding not working

Got a new company phone - Verizon Iphone11.

Want to forward (*72) incoming calls to my Android ATT phone to the new company phone.

Getting message "cannot be completed as dialed, check number and dial again."

Why is 10-digit number in *72XXXYYYZZZZ not being recognized?

We can definitely help you enable Call Forwarding, @walmsleys

You're on the right track - *72 is a wireline phone feature though. Here's what you're looking for.

For security though you must enable Wireless Call Forwarding from your Android Device Settings.

Depending on your Android OS version its pretty simple. Here's how:

  1. Open the Phone app
  2. Select the Menu icon (3 dots upper right corner), then select Settings
  3. Find Supplementary services, then tap Call forwarding
  4. Here you'll be pretested with options
    • Always forward
    • Forward when busy
    • Forward when unanswered
    • Forward when unreachable
  5. Select one or all, and enter your new company phone number, then tap Turn on
  6. Make a test call to confirm

You can use AT&T Device Support if you don't see the path provided above. Simply confirm your Android make/model, then type Call Forwarding in the Search Device Support bar. It's very simple and can save time vs. contacting a support agent by phone.

Please give it a try and follow back up here to let us know how it goes. Thank you!
