Brand New Phone won't hold a charge.

I just switched to AT&T prepaid day before yesterday. Due to service and the discount for Instacart Shoppers.. I use my phone for work so I need it to hold a charge, have good service, and not cost a fortune. I purchased the AT&T Calypso model U318AA and let it charge for about 18 hours before activating and using it. The very 1st job I accepted the phone randomly shut off right after starting I take it out to the car plug it in and it won't charge or stay on. It ends up causing me to lose the job.. 24 hours later? I haven't been able to work or get the phone to charge any.. it's costing me money at this point I need help..

@samjog1965

That's a ridiculous assertion. Phone batteries last somewhere between 2 and 5 years depending on how much usage.
