Scammed by Trade In Promotion

I feel completely scammed, your website said I qualified for a trade in credit with an eligible current unlimited plan and phone, it never specified on your website that it had to be a specific unlimited plan. With the credit I am only supposed to pay $5 more after three bill cycles at $33, which was fine.  I even received an email where it says the offer has been applied for a credit for the phone. Today I received an email, that I will be paying $154 a month instead of my typical plan of $101 + $5 after three bill cycles. I called customer service and it turns out my unlimited plan wasn't the right eligible plan for this promo? Your website even said retired plans can qualify for this promo (which I have a screenshot). I have a grandfathered or "retired" plan and yes I also have a qualifying phone to trade in. I was told it has to be a new unlimited plan not a retired or grandfathered plan and that they can help me switch to it. I do not want to switch to any new plan and specified this clearly to the rep that I am not switching to a new plan. On top of now being charged for a phone without credit, my phone plan seems to have been changed without my permission and I am being charged an extra $20 a month for my service plan without specifying what that 20 is even for. Even if I continue to make payments for the phone without the credit, my total bill should be no more than 133 a month, not 154.  How do I not qualify when I have an unlimited plan and a qualifying phone? Where is this extra $20 coming from?

Did you also read the part of the promotion that says it takes 3 months for the credits?

There are multiple places where it does say that an unlimited plan is required.

An unlimited data plan is required by all carriers for all of their promotions and has been the case for several years.

Like any deal, there are requirements on your part. If one of those is unlimited data and you do not switch to an unlimited data plan, you have not kept up your part of the deal.

Samples easily found on every offer...

By the way your bill is very detailed. Please log in and expand all the plus signs so that you see what all the charges are for.

If that email was your customer service summary also known as the projected bill, ignore it. They are infamously wrong. It won’t include any phone credits whether you actually get them or not.

Yes, some retired unlimited plans do qualify for the promotion but not all retired plans. What retired plan do you have?

I was told it has to be a new unlimited plan not a retired or grandfathered plan and that they can help me switch to it.

That is not true but if the retired plan you have is not one of the eligible retired plans, the only way to get the promotion is to switch to a current plan.
