Scammed by AT&T on trade I offer.

tradein offer is a total scam.  I was told by a representative of AT&T at my local Sams club that I could ge two free iPhones with trade in of our two Samsung and Motog smartphones and switch from Verizon to AT&T.  I was supposed to get mailing labels and packaging sent to me by AT&T for turning in my Tradein phones.  I never received the labels and packing so contacted the representative via a phone number he had given me.  He called and I finally received JUST a label..no packing materials.  I then had to get a separate box for each phone and bubble wrap to ship the phones.  
subsequently, I received a bill for $323+/- with no mention of credit for the phones.  I called and was told by customer seripvice that the first bill would be higher but the next bill would reflect the”Free” phones and my bill would only show the cost of AT&T use.

   Today I received a letter from REWARDS CENTER, COPPELL, TEXAS.  It turned out to be from AT&T congratulating me on my Tradein and a PROMOTIONAL CARD.   The messages further states that “Based on what you sent us, you’re getting $1.00 for my MOTO XT2055-2 MOTO G8 Power Lite 64GB - OTH”

THAT IS A FAR CRY FROM “FREE”!!!!

    My husband is in his 80’s and I’m not far behind.  We are in a fixed income.  This is unconscionable!  I fully intend to bring this practice to the attention of the BBB and the Attorney General.

    I will go to another provider as soon as possible!

Those representatives at Sam’s Club do not work for ATT. They are independent resellers. The requirements for ATT’s trade in program are posted for all to see. You weren’t scammed by ATT, you were scammed by Sam’s. Good luck with your BBB complaint.
