Sam's Club/Att booth is a scam!

I've read the forum as I too last month fell for this same scam at Sam'sClub. I don't understand why Sam's Club would allow this type of business. This needs to be reported to their corporate office as im sure corporate does not know this is happening all these years!

It was a nightmare 😔 for over a month and I was able to switch back to T-Mobile...thank goodness!

I hope people are able to see this forum before purchasing from Sam's Club Att.

I forget who the "owner" is of the Retail outlets in Sam's Club (@formerlyknownas are you there?) but that's who you would want to direct a complaint to (BBB or otherwise) as well as Sam's Club. Unfortunately AT&T has little to no control over the business practices of the Retail Outlet.

Historically, the owner of those 3rd party retail outlets has been Smart Circle.

I know back in June that AT&T set up a special hotline to deal with all the shenanigans going on at Sam's Club.

I don't normally hang out in this forum but is that still in play?

The unfortunate thing is that Sam's/BJ's/Costco does offer phone discounts and a long return window.

But otherwise they can't offer anything that you can't get directly from an AT&T corporate store.

The $250 switch Online deal is being offered again, don't know when that will expire. Internet customers can get 25% off if they switch and get new wireless service. And both existing and current customers can participate in trade-in deal. All of its published online and I encourage people to carefully read the trade-in deal including expanding the arrows to see what phones are eligible for trade in.

If you want carrier level service, deal with a corporate store not a third party.

I just fell into the scam 1 week ago, was paying $160 for 5 lines with T Mobile they offered me to pay less if a switched to AT&T around $120-$140 at the most. Well 9 days later i get a $333 dollar bill for the first month and was told i was being billed over $200 a month now for my regular bill? (Edited per community guidelines)? How did you manage to go back with T Mobile? Asap?

The bottom line is don't do business with the independent AT&T retailers at Sam's Club. They purposely mislead and are not totally upfront with the customers. They are not owned or operated by AT&T and are not staffed with AT&T employees. The sales are sent to AT&T who has no clue as to what was said and/or promised to the customer.

What did your receipt say? It should have detailed what you purchased. Were you given a TOS to read?
