Decline Advantage Protection Claim
Earlier this week, while riding my motorcycle on the interstate my phone fell out of my pocket. It took me a little bit to get turned around, and by the time I got back to the location, my phone had been run over who knows how many times. Needless to say it was a total loss.
I was covered by the protection plan, so I called the number and filed a claim. My phone was the Samsung Galaxy A50. The lady I spoke to on the phone told me I had a $100.00 deductible and they could offer me a Samsung S20+ 5G as a replacement. I had been looking at the A14 as a replacement, but the S20+ 5G seemed to be slightly better and I accepted the offer.
But I was wondering..... I didn't think to ask at the time, but suppose I declined their replacement offer. What would be the protocol then? Would they have cut me a check or simply give me X number of dollars credit on my bill to be applied later.....
To be sure the S20+ seems like a really nice phone. So I'm going to keep it, right now just trying to replace/reload a lot of my apps that got lost, but all my music was saved to a micro SD card so all that's safe. But I do have to recreate all my playlists......

If they cannot replace your phone with one that is like or better, they're supposed to cut you a check. In your case you made out far better. I had an a50 it was garbage. S20 is a much better phone in every way.
