AT&T stole my phone!!!

AT&T stole my phone!!! I sent them my IPhone 11 Pro to trade it in for Iphone 13 PRo. I went inside the Post Office to mail the package myself. I put my IPhone 11 Pro into the box that AT&T provided and put the label that they provided. Tracking shows that my package was picked up by their agent on March 1st. 3 Months have passed and I still haven’t received a credit for my IPhone 11 Pro 256 GB. Called the customer service and was told that they never received IPhone 11 Pro and that in the package was some (Edited per community guidelines)ty motorolla phone. I never owned Motorola in my life. Their crook agent stole my expensive phone and submitted some cheap crap. At this pointI don’t even want it back because who knows that they have done to it in the past few months. I just want to be compensated for my phone. Thiefs!!!!!

The agent is a courier, Pitney Bowes or newgistics.  The trade in facility is HYLA mobile.  

So AT&T never saw, touched or has your phone.  Saying they stole something they never had isn't possible. 

As for resolving your problem, file a Better Business Bureau complaint online. The complaint is forwarded to AT&T upper management and someone will contact you.

So basically you are saying that AT&T used some shady shipping company to deliver my expensive phone because they are the ones who provided me with a shipping label.

Did you by chance return the iPhone 11 in the box with shipping label the iPhone 13 came in?  If so you sent it to the wrong address. The packaging was to be used in case you needed to return the iPhone 13.

Same thing is happening to me right now, except I actually traded mine in person at the AT&T store. I'm not stopping til I get my money back. If you steal from them,  they would have you locked up, well same goes for them. GIVE US OUR CREDITS AT&T!!! STOP STEALING PEOPLES PHONES!

@Steph4804 File a BBB complain online. Be sure to include all pertinent info including  the AT&T corp store location and copy of the receipt given to you when you turned in the phone.

@Fl_retire I actually finally got it fixed in June, they found the "lost" phone and gave me credit and told me i would be reimbursed on my next bill for the previous installments... well July bill is here and I am being charged for the phone AGAIN!! I called them and they have magically "lost" the phone again, and there just happen to be no notes from the last call of where they fixed it. I just filed a complaint with BBB and i am filing a police report next week. Also i am not paying the bill lol.. SCREW ATT and i DONT RECOMMEND ATT to ANYONE!! I will be posting this on all my social medias and contacting news 2. AT&T are theives. I am not the only one this has happened to, so I am going to find a group of us and we WILL get our money back from these Liars/Thieves.

This exact thing happened to me too! I returned the brand new iphone 13 pro max to AT&T, using the shipping label they provided. 2 month later which is today, I was told the phone they received was some old dirty T-mobile motorola phone. 

 I contacted AT&T and they claim not responsible for this. Later I talked to another representative and her supervisor, who are actually both helpful. They told me AT&T would file a complaint to USPS regarding this. I also went to BBB to file a complaint too. Hope things get resolved.

It's so sad how bad AT&T has gotten to be. I've been with them for over 10 years. I called AT&T several times for help. They kept telling me the phone i traded didn't show in their computer, so nothing they could do!!! I totally agree they are thieves and liars. The BBB was able to resolve my issue and AT&T refunded my money, but I will tell you my phone has become much "slower" since... also as soon as contract is up, I will be leaving AT&T for good. The BBB helped me, not AT&T. I will also tell everyone I know not to use AT&T. I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope you get your money back. Screw AT&T

I filed complaint on BBB. After 13 days, AT&T (someone from the office of the president) contacted me saying they already did the investigation in the warehouse, and the box is not opened by the others. Hence I'm responsible for the lost iphone 13 pro max. When I asked how they did the investigation, they claimed no information will be provided to me. When I asked if they did any investigation between usps and AT&T, they say no information will be provided to me. All I was told is "The investigation is done and you need to pay that money". 

I'm trying different ways to solve this, but I'm wondering if you have any other suggestion?

Try filing a complaint with the FCC.. I'm sorry you didn't get help. The president contacted me, asked no questions,  just refunded me back.  Don't give up. If they really stole your phone, make all the noise you can, maybe file a police report. I wish you much luck

Hi Steph4804, I did file a fcc complaint too. And just now the exact same person from the president office called me, telling me no further investigation would be done. I did call the police and submit the case, and they are willing to help provide the help to the court. I'm submitting it to the small claim court now.

I guess comparing with the old trick "lost package" which I've seen hundreds of complaints on this forum, "package delivered with phone replaced" is now the new trick. That's why I'm curious how OP's case was handled. Her phone got switched too.

Not true.   The BBB only forwarded the complaint back to AT&T.   Exactly what the FCC complaint does

@former yes its very true, if not for the BBB, AT&T would have never agreed to help me. I wouldn't have had to contact the BBB, if AT&T would have done their job, instead of stealing from all these people.
