At&t $800 pre order SCAM or so it's looking.

I have been with at&t for 9months sense February 22 and my next bill is in a few days, that will make it my 10th bill.

*****I'm on an unlimited plan and my trade in device was owned by me and paid off. ******

I feel I have to clarify  this early so it's not missed when reading that I purchase used phones as I cannot afford new hardly ever.  so they are paid off...

Online they had a pre order  promotion and it was still covid  restricted in February 2022 in Louisiana so, I did everything online.  The promotion was supposed to be  applied in 2 billing cycles after they received my device. This would nock off a small amount each month  I have the email  showing  they received  it and the last  step was not finished the one saying  "trade completed and payment sent", was never highlighted.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

They always ask me for a return  cracking number  when I was not given a return tracking. The phone came, I took the info from one phone put it on the new phone and sent it in, but there was never a tracking number that I recall it was just  a bar code label in the box  that I was to stick over the original label. And all I had was an order confirmation  as a link to check the status nothing more or less.  So I'm unsure  If they are using this as a loop hole but  on my end the link doesn't even work anymore  as of two months ago it stopped working so I can only see the last email with a highlight of  them receiving the package and  nothing done after to get me the promotion.

But they can see everything  on there end so I don't know why they I sist on asking me for a tracking when they should have all that in the system when I give them the order and returned item confirmation #'s.

Every two months after contacting them, I would get a message saying:

AT&T Free Msg: Your promo has been submitted. Allow 60 days for processing. If credits have not applied please call 800-331-0500.

With repeated attempts  to get it resolved  with no resolve.

With no promotion ever received.

And now the same thing  I'm tempted  to just be gullible and keep paying but  I think the best thing to do is forfeit payments  all together

---------------------------------------------------------------

I can't tell if it's at&t that is dropping the ball or the  company giving the  promotions   called "Hyla"

As of right now  I have about 34hours of on the phone time  trying to get this resolved  and I have been very very patient.

I understand  " now" that there is likely a binding arbitration clause  so you can't sue... but what does it take to do a clazz akshion

Luasuit.?

There is so many people being frauded by at&t. From a few  hours of research this passed couple years atleast but, here is my list of problems:

*at&t  has my note 9,

*they now have my phone number I had for almost 10 years  that I ported over

*they are charging me the full price of the phone regardless

* and i feel like im being pinned into a corner   because they hold all the cards.and your stuff!

 So

If I stay:

They charge me like they have been for the passed 9 months like others have been thru for more than 2 years

* if I cancel  service

-they charge me the full price anyway,

- steel my note9 512gb version.

-keep my number till the s22 ultra phone is paid off and I can go elsewhere, no wait they keep that to because I have to have a working line to port it over elsewhere.

*If I forfeit   payments all together:

-They steel  my note9 512gb version

- my new device that would be paid off by now will remain locked.

- I loose my number for almost 10years.

Not to mention  this contract was supposed to be a 2 year and some how I was put in a 3 year contract.

So what are  our options for those like me that do not get  the promotion  at&t offered to suckered you in that they agreed to when  the contract was  done.

To me it seems  at&t has  breached the contract 9x over. So far they could have given me the promotion that they didnt. I feel like I'm in prison with a bar of soap I just dropped,  and there was nobody  behind be but all the sudden  now there IS and with a mosterous 🍆  that just popped up out of nowhere.

It's kinda scary seeing all the people  dealing with at&t and not getting there promo they signed up for.  If at&t can  breach the contract   or  allow use to sign a contract  binding us to not sue but knowing they will not pay out but 20% of the promotions they offer  why can this be allowed and why jas there not been a class akshion luasiut.  or is there that I'm not aware of?

I'm a very honest and kind person... I do not wish to sue I'm not that type of person I just want to be treated fairly. And be given the promotion, I've never owned a new phone not even as a child.  I've never had the money to buy a new flagship it was always 3 years ago flagship. And that was good enough.

I'm disabled and  in the beginning i explained to the  guy who was on the phone with me that I cant really afford the extra cost but for 2 months so it will be OK, but after 3 months passed I became very concerned  because I cannot afford to sustain  this cost  of $130+ every month and he assured me it would only be 2 months  and it will drop to below $90 a month fast forward  to October  I still have the same situation and they are not taking me seriously. And just it's like they try to just walk thru the conversation  till  they act as if they have tried everything.  The company  that allowed the 800 credit is called HYLA, phone# 877-244-9829

Unfortunately  even though I got them to give me the "ok" or to confirm that I had made the cut for the 800. Has still not come thru 2 months after they said they would apply  it.

I  honestly am a little used to be taken advantage  of  as I am very skilled with my hands  weather it be family or friends.

But never have I been taken advantage  of with my money and I was a little  taken back that a company  can treat people like this and get away with it for the most part.

I feel like if I ever  get this promotion  I feel like it would be a huge win for my mental health,  I just feel like I'm Destin to never have a good life. As people like me are the back bone of what allows the selfish to live how they do.  If I can get just one time for things to turn around without ruining a relationship  that would be the light at the end of the tunnel.  I'm a good person an people generally love me but I need to try to stand up for myself from time to time. I'm really hoping  there is some help to be had with my circumstances. I was told there is no way to win  what your owed with phone companies like at&t you just kinda gotta let them do what they are gonna do and you have to accept it.

I think the best thing for me is to just hang up the idea and just cancel  my plan with at&t and I honestly think more people should.. even though I got another text saying 2 months or call this number  I will not allow this to continue and just move on about my life but. I really feel like  this is so wrong to hold you hostage  with them keeping my number my promotion  and not treating me failerly.

My biggest question  is will I be able to  submit  my information later if I cancel my contract with at&t should there be a Chazz akshion?

Should I remain  loyal and bend over for the Ole prostate check?  Should I keep looking for answers and be patient.  What can I do I feel  exhausted with over 34 hours of phone time with them.  I feel like I have been so patient  with at&t and remaining calm all the time.

Please tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel or should I give up?

It's not right.  I mean, i could be spending  57 a month instead of 130  so I think this is my next option. If this is a bad idea please, do tmlet me make a bad mistake I don't want to make a mistake  and loose my investment if there is a chance to fix this.

There's quite a bit of misinformation. For one thing the installments have been 36 months since the iPhone 11 came out that's 3 years ago.

It is not a contract it is an installment loan. You can pay off the loan at any time, unlock your phone and go somewhere else.

You did not mention any of the terms that AT&T required to take part in this promotion. Do you know what they were?  For example you had to have a qualified unlimited data plan with a minimum $75 base price or more. Currently that would be the unlimited starter plan with a discounted cost of $65 but a base of $75.  Metered plans did not qualify.

You didn't mention whether or not your note 9 was paid off?

If you had saved a picture of the shipping label, it might explain a lot. I have the feeling you sent your phone back to AT&T in Texas. That is not where the trade-ins go. Trade in phones are sent to a third party recycler in Tennessee called Hyla mobile.   If you sent your phone back to AT&T they have no idea what to do with it.

File a Better Business Bureau complaint online. The online complaint is forwarded back to AT&T upper management and someone will take a closer look at your case. It's likely that you sent your phone to the wrong warehouse, back to AT&T. Since it's been a while for 9 months, you can only hope that they can locate it or will give you credits anyway.

My phone was paid off and my plan obviously  qualified or I wouldn't be wasting my time I am on an unlimited  plan everything checks out for me I've done my part I qualify or I wouldn't have did the pre-order even in the pre order it stated this so I was aware of the plans I needed to be in.

I get it  it was on the installments  it's 800 of the total price I'm waiting for the 800 credit so I can pay it off.  They are holding me back from doing just that

The credit is monthly, for 36 months, not lump sum.  Did you expect a lump sum?

They gave me a label they told me to  put the label on and return. I did EVERYTHING THEY ASKED. Quite literally.  Stated in the post.  I also added a few notes to the post to let others know early a detail  you highlighted  that I didn't clarify  which was a plan but that isn't really pf any concern is it? I'm asking what can I do now  whats something  I can do that won't hurt me down the road  whats is a reasonable  thing I can do in my case  to sand up to the big guy and not get (Edited per community guidelines)d in the process  I have a Vergin  butt  I'm not biult to take it  Mr.  Formerlyknownass

No I did not expect  a lumpsum, but that's not what matters, your going off topic. I have not received  it at all regardless  of what it's form is.  The point is I cannot go elsewhere  I cannot afford this phone without the promotion  they told me a lie and they keep lieing. And making up loop holes  the first two calls were price of cake. The longer this went on the more complex there questions.

As if they will find a way to say sorry I don't know how I can help if you don't have this information. I'm  kinda done with all of this I will be looking for other platforms to make this a known issue as well this cannot  be allowed  to continue.

Promotions need to be applied at time of check out,  return shipping paid by owner  prior to the check out process and if they don't qualify  before hand then atleast they get to keep there phone and make a better decision prior.

I works like to know why  anyone would be thinking of taking a picture of a pointless  bar code label   whe. All they want to do is get the new phone setup.  My mind was in trying to get the phone setup  the first day.   And after I got things switched I powered off the old phone.. why would I think to go get my new phone to take a picture of a box.  People don't do that.     Like I said I never had a new phone.

I never knew a business  would be this  cracked.

Also,  they told me to put the phone in the box and put the label included in the box over the original.

I was told this by the rep.

You would I go out my way to make sure it goes to anywhere else than instructed? I'm not trying to be rude here I'm just saying its alot to expect  a person  to be so cautious for no reason..

If I was like this with everything In life I would be broken, a nut basket, thinking everyone is out to get me with a piow over my head throwing a tantrumn because the sky is falling and I don't want to float away.

I works like to know why  anyone would be thinking of taking a picture of a pointless  bar code label

Because it's not a pointless barcode label. It has the tracking number right below the barcode and the address where your phone went..

The same tracking number would have appeared on your USPS receipt if you got one when you handed your package over at the post office.

Again,  read the last paragraph of my first post. And do that. And hope that they can find your phone.
