Moved and want to start digital life service

I’ve moved into a new home with Digital Life home security set up and I can’t find a way to get ahold of someone to figure out how to set it up in my name. Can anyone help?

Good morning,

Digital Life is no longer activating old Digital Life systems. If you are interested in a home security system, you should contact a reputable home security company to have a system installed.

*Note: Most of the AT&T Digital Life equipment is proprietary and will not work with other systems. You may want to check with Brinks Home™ because some of the equipment may be compatible with their system.

Thank you for the quick response. Can you direct me to instructions on how to uninstall all of the equipment that is hardwired into my home?

There are no published instructions that I know of. I will pull up instructions I have sent in the past and send them to you. I believe I have the basic instructions for removing the keypad and the main controller. Does your keypad have a flip down cover or are the keys exposed with no cover?

Thank you so very much. We have the keypad with the flip down cover as well as window sensors on every window in the house.

  • DOOR AND WINDOW SENSORS:
    • The window and door sensors should be secured with double sided tape.
    • If they seem to be secured with screws, use a screwdriver or dime to pry the side of the sensor until it opens. You should see two tiny screws securing the sensor to the window or door. Remove those screws and the double-sided tape if it was used.
    • Lastly, if the door or window sensors are wired, they are not Digital Life sensors.

Great, thank you! Any tips for the key pad?

The keypad should be mounted on a mounting plate which is attached to the wall with four screws. To remove the keypad, slide the keypad upwards away from the mounting plate. I will send a photo of the mounting plate in a moment. Gotta take a photo of it.

The answer and comment from AT&T on here is DEAD WRONG!!!!  I just moved in my new house and the old owner had digital life.  I asked the owner to call AT&T and have it transferred to my name.  The owner did it.  Yesterday, an AT&T technician upgraded my system, installed everything and taught me how to use it.  I am a new digital life customer as of yesterday and it works perfectly.  This answer is straight up WRONG! Call AT&T Digital Life Customer Service and they will tell you what to do.

It may be wrong, but I believe the distinction is that you got the previous active account transferred into your name.  Which, given the situation with 3G, I'm amazed happened.

Th technician told me the 3G problem was never a problem.  He installed an upgraded controller that works using my home's wifi. He said it was such an obvious solution that he never knew what the fuss was about.  You are right, I had the homeowner transfer the account to me with AT&T and then I activated the account in my name. It was a seamless process.

@NewHomePurchaser

I would like to clarify what you may have misinterpreted in the answers above. AT&T Digital Life is no longer activating new customers. It sounds like you had AT&T Digital Life service transferred to you, which is different.

I'm glad you were able to get the homeowner to transfer the service to you.

Call Digital Life Customer Care, 855.288. 2727, option 4. Early termination fees may apply. Please note that you may have to schedule time to have a technician uninstall select equipment or return equipment purchased before service is cancelled.

AT&T  Digital Life does not uninstall equipment or accept uninstalled equipment. It belongs to the homeowner.
