Monitored smoke detector options
I need to add monitored smoke detection to my home. After speaking with a Digital Life representative today and searching online:
- Is it accurate that AT&T Digital Life no longer offers monitored smoke equipment and/or services?
- If "yes" to #1, what 3rd party equipment options can I purchase to integrate with my AT&T Digital Life monitoring?
This is extremely important - thank you!

Considering AT&T Digital Life no longer offers smoke detectors, is it safe to assume at a minimum you are still supporting smoke detectors for customers who already have them in place?
Also, can you share why AT&T decided to discontinue offering smoker detectors? Is this something I should be concerned about considering I currently have two (2)?
Thanks.

An a more broader note, should I/we be concerned about AT&T downsizing their options? I have various home automation equipment that I would hate to just stop working one day. Should I be looking at alternative security vendors?

@jbeezely1 @j.holmes Hello. The original post is from almost 2 years ago and we had stopped carrying smoke detectors about 6 months prior. We stopped carrying them due to not being able to be the primary smoke detector in homes. Most municipalities require hard wired smoke detectors and they were not allowing us to be the primary so we stopped as ours are battery operated. We do have support for customers with them in place already , we do not sell new. Are either of you having an issue with yours?
I would not be concerned about downsizing options and your automation equipment/security would not just stop working. We are currently working on several projects right now , more to come.

Can someone please tell me how I can get my hands on a smoke sensor now that they are no longer for sale. I am a new digital life customer and started my service long after they no longer offer the sensors for sale. However, the technician who installed my system made it clear that AT&T will still provide the monitored service if I can obtain them on my own. My insurance company requires monitored smoke alarm detectors so I am desperately trying to find an AT&T smoke sensor from a third party or a smoke sensor from another brand that is compatible. I would take any help or advice anyone can give.

Hello,
Digital Life cannot monitor smoke sensors purchased from third-party providers. This includes old Digital Life smoke sensors purchased from others, eBay, etc.

Wow. That is not the answer I was hoping to hear. Simply put, a customer who inherits a system that does not have smoke sensors cannot, under any circumstances, obtain them is what I'm hearing.

@NewHomePurchaser
That is correct. AT&T Digital Life does not monitor add on smoke sensors.
