AT&T digital life

I purchased a house in June of 2017 it has att digital life security already installed before I purchased the house. The service was turned off when I bought the house. Now today I have spent 5 hours so far trying to get my security system activated. A technician Came out to activate it but when he tried to activate it wants to charge me for equipment fee of $359.99 and he told me to go to an att store because it needed to be overridden so I wouldn’t have to pay for equipment I already own! The store tried and couldn’t help me so the called digital life customer care and they couldn’t help me so I called the loyalty department who transferred me to someone else who basically told me that after 9 years of cellular and 4 years of U-verse cable and internet that they didn’t care if I shut off all of my services but if I wanted my security system that is new and already installed and working just not being monitored that I would have to pay for the new equipment when the technician and the store said that was stupid! So att this is your last chance! Help!!!!! Or I will find another provider for my cellular cable internet and security needs since my 9 years of loyalty doesn’t seem to mean much to your company!

Same issue here. I am currently in a home without digital life security system active for the last two years. I also upgraded to the premium technology package and purchased their Smart Door Keyless entry, Outfoor Security camera, indoor security camera, and extra water detection sensors. I am purchasing a new home in one week that also has the Digital Life Security system already installed with 2 outdoor cameras and two smart locks on top of all of the other security equipment. I was told that not only would I have to pay $450 plus tax for the transfer of service, but I would also have to remove all of my old devices from the my current address myself and even then, I may not be able to use them at the new address depending on their comparability with the “new” system, even though Digital life hasn’t updated their systems in years. So basically I risk paying $450 for a new service that locks me into a 2 year contract at $65/month and still having to spend another $1000 on equipment that I already own just to have my new home at the same smart home protection level as my old home?! Insane and terrible customer loyalty! I cancelled my service and I will upgrading for the less expensive yet more expansive Nest Security System. For a one time price of $1000 I can have the Nest Protect Security Alarm system, two key tag monitors, two outdoor cameras, one indoor camera, a Nest video doorbell,  Nest smoke detector and door sensors.

I am currently talking with protection one and what they offer is way cheaper! I think att is about to lose a cellular cable and internet customer and I have been with them for 9 years! Verizon is starting to look real good right about now!
