AT&T Digital Life: Has anyone had a *good* experience?

We're set to have a fairly extensive AT&T Digital Life system installed in about a week (five cameras, four door locks, two smoke alarms, two thermostats, etc.). Since I've had some time between my initial purchase and the actual installation, I of course have done some research. In doing so, I've become very alarmed by the vast number of people who rate their decision to buy AT&T Digital Life among the worst decisions they've ever made.

Put all these together with the stuff posted on this forum, and I'm nearly ready to cancel my service before I even have it installed.

 

So my questions are, (1) has anyone had a *good* experience with AT&T Digital Life providing security and home automation, and (2) what if anything is AT&T doing to address the mountain of negativity surrounding this product and the DL customer service?

Thank you for providing me the information. I was able to locate your account. Have you changed the battery in the sensor? We are showing it as offline on our end which is why the alarm keeps alerting you about it. There isn't a way to completely turn off the beeping until you change out the battery or if we remove the sensor from the system.

I got in cheap like 7 years ago. It’s ok but there is better. The DL app is trash and the solution center is even worse. The contact batteries seem to crap out 2 times a year which is 2 times more then they should in my opinion. I had to replace the batteries in the head unit 3 times so far and not sure if that’s normal or not. 

Now DL won’t bother upgrading their units to work beyond 3G and is offering a move to Brinks which will continue your service without a price increase (so I’ve read). This comes with a 3 year contract which I refuse to sign. My parents moved to Brinks a month ago and have had issues the whole time. Brinks has gone out there every week for 4 weeks. What a joke. 

Look else where. I’m gonna cancel my service with DL and avoid Brinks like the plague.
