ZTE MF985 Speed Issues Since 3G Shutdown

I've been using a ZTE MF985 hotspot for the past 2 yrs with no issues and reliable LTE speeds.  Since the 3G shutdown, my speeds has been cut in half, if not more.

From what I've read, this device is not affected since it's a LTE device and not listed as being affected.

AT&T tech support has been completely HELPLESS!!  I can't even get a straight answer from them if my device is being throttled.

Anyone else with the same device having similar issues?

Hi johnphotography! We are here to help with your ZTE (MF985) mobile hotspot speed inquiry!

We recommend power cycling your device by pressing the power button, to reset your device. Also, please keep in mind that a maximum of ten devices total (split between the Main and Guest Wi-Fi networks) can be connected simultaneously to your mobile hotspot.

You can also check for blocked devices by navigating to Wi-Fi from the Home screen>Block list>Block/Unblock>Ok to unblock any devices. This instructions are found on page 2 of the user manual provided.

Let us know if this helped! Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!

My Home Base ZTE Z700A is on AT&T's list of devices that would still work after sunsetting 3G but it does not; no calls and no internet. At first support claimed that all I need is a new SIMM card but this did not pan out. I have 5 cards that they sent me none of which work. AT&T store was not helpful. They referred me to sales who wanted to sell me a phone, then a special 3G sunsetting issues phone number that won't connect.

Needless to say I'm at my wits end with AT&T's so called customer service (horrible, horrible, horrible). 3 other devices are listed in their document as still being able to work post 3G sunsetting; IFWA-40, MF279, and WF723CC. I they're all ZTE. Has anyone out there used these devices successfully? If so please, please let me know.
